Are your cards really Genuine handwritten cards and notes?
Yes, we write all of our cards just like you would. We use only gel pens and write every word by hand. Every card is somewhat unique due to the varying penmanship of our writers, but all are genuine handwritten cards and notes.
What makes Crane & Co. paper “green”?
Crane papers are made using the tiny cotton fibers that adhere to the cottonseed after ginning otherwise; they would end up in landfills.
Will you be able to tell I ordered it online?
We do not make any references to our website and the only mark they will see is Crane & Co. So unless the recipient is a super sleuth, is familiar with your handwriting, or if they really are observant they might wonder about the location of the post office cancellation stamp, they probably won’t notice.
How long does it take for a card to get to the recipient?
We process the order and get it to the post office generally within 1-2 days. We mail it via USPS standard delivery for first-class mail, which typically means the recipient receives it in 2-3 days. So, you can expect your card to reach the recipient within 3 to 7 days from the time of your order. Rush orders are available upon special request.
What if the recipient recognizes the handwriting not to be mine? That might be embarrassing!
Our intent is not to deceive your loved ones, but rather to help you with correspondence which etiquette dictates must be handwritten, yet it is not critical that the handwriting actually be yours.
Why do you use Crane & Co. papers? Why are they so special?
We use Crane & Co. because they are premier papers and stationery manufacturers. Not only do they produce beautiful paper, they take their environmental responsibilities seriously. Not a single tree falls to make Crane’s 100% cotton papers nor are any new cotton fields required. Instead, Crane recovers remnants of textile and cottonseed manufacturing to make their product. In addition, when you recycle 100% cotton papers along with your regular office paper waste, the cotton’s superior strength will actually improve the quality of the resulting recycled product.
Why don’t you have more cards to choose from?
We aren’t a card company, we are a handwriting service. We have carefully selected a variety of premium Crane & Co. cards to suit a variety of occasions. We think simplicity, plus high quality paper and timely receipt, are the most important elements of a handwritten card.
I think some of your writing looks a bit feminine. How can I be sure mine will look more masculine?
Many men choose to have their cards written in print rather than cursive, however our writers always consider the source before writing the card.
Can’t I just send an email?
Yes, there are many occasions where an email is appropriate, but if you want to make an impression send a handwritten note or card.
From where is it post marked?
We use an actual postage stamp and we make the delivery from a Denver, CO or Cincinnati, OH post office. However, you can choose to have the finished card mailed to you for mailing at your local post office for an additional fee.
How will I know or remember what I wrote and if it was mailed?
Once your order has processed we will send you a scanned image of the completed card and envelope for your files. This way you can review the handwriting, message and address.
I have a special request. Can you help?
We will try our best to handle all requests. Please contact us about your project.
I have really sloppy handwriting. Can you write like me?
No, we don’t try to forge personal styles. Instead we provide a selection of handwriting styles based on the penmanship of our writers’ styles and what will work best.
If I place a big order can I get the price way down?
We do offer a discount for large orders and for supplying your own stationery. However, a handwritten card takes time and we pay our employees a fair wage. Besides you can only write so quickly and still be neat and accurate.
What makes a handwritten card so special?
First impressions last, and good taste is more than simply choosing the right card. The Handwritten Card can write your cards by hand with etiquette and style and save you money and time in the process.
Why do your cards cost $6.50?
Quality cards generally cost between $3.00-$9.00 per card and that doesn’t include time spent getting a card, addressing, writing, postage and mailing the card. We think $6.50/card is a deal.
Why not use a handwriting font?
Handwriting fonts are easily recognized as computer generated and impersonal. Even custom fonts are easily detected as “false” and are expensive.
Why would I use The Handwritten Card rather than just do it myself?
Convenience is a big one. It takes time and effort to go out and shop for a card, write and mail it. Cost savings, if you make a mistake then you have to buy another card, if we make it then we buy another at no additional charge to you. Penmanship too, we write neatly and accurately. There are many more reasons to use The Handwritten Card for your personal correspondence.
